Rising river levels overnight may lead to flooding. Flooding is possible from 11:00 PM on 08/10/2024. Areas most at risk include Wash Dike in Ferrybridge and Pontefract. Weather conditions are expected to improve tomorrow morning and no further flooding is expected. We are closely monitoring the situation and monitoring rainfall and river levels. This flood alert remains in place as heavy rain and thunderstorms are continuing to affect parts of West Yorkshire and have caused localised flooding issues. The rain should start to die out through the late evening and overnight into tomorrow, Tuesday 7 May 2024, with river levels returning to normal. We will continue to monitor the situation closely. Surface water may affect low spots on roads for some time - please remain aware of your surroundings and avoid walking or driving through flood water. River levels are rising rapidly on the Wash Dike due to heavy rain and thunderstorms. Areas most at risk include Wash Dike in Ferrybridge and Pontefract. Flooding is possible at Wash Dike in Ferrybridge and Pontefract from 7:45 PM on 06/05/2024. Further heavy showers and thunderstorms are forecast throughout the evening, but should ease into the night. We will continue to monitor the forecast and re-issue this alert/warning if necessary. Monitor local water levels and weather conditions. Consider putting your flood plan into action. You should avoid walking, cycling or driving through flood water. River levels are rising on the Wash Dike due to heavy rainfall. Areas most at risk include Wash Dike in Ferrybridge and Pontefract. Flooding of low-lying land near watercourses is possible from the early hours of Friday 20th of October 2023. Further heavy rainfall is forecast throughout the weekend and river levels are expected to continue to rise. Our incident rooms will be open and we are closely monitoring rainfall and river levels. Please avoid using low lying footpaths and any bridges near local watercourses and do not attempt to walk or drive through flood water. Start acting on your flood plan if you have one.
